Most of you are friends with, or heard about, our Wholly Yours Ministries musician, Mukisa Godfrey. Mukisa is a vital part of our Wholly Yours Ministries team and plays the keyboard for us when we do conferences, crusades, revivals and outreaches. Mukisa is not only our musician, over time, he has become like a son to my wife and I as well as the other team members. In fact, I have the distinct honor of speaking at his wedding and Stephanie and I will be there as his parents, as that is what he considers us and refers to us as. We are honored to be part of this amazing young man's life.
You see, Mukisa's biological parents ran him away from home at the early age of twelve after he gave his life to Christ. For many years Mukisa lived in various places, including church buildings and even in abandoned houses or those under construction. The Lord saw fit a couple years ago for our paths to cross, and by the grace of God, we were able to rescue him and help him get established in life. The first two pictures below are of him shortly after I met him. He was sleeping in a building that was under construction on a piece of fabric on the ground. I remember this particular night well; we were texting back and forth and he didn't want me to stop texting because he was afraid of the wild dogs and possible snakes. Somehow me being on the phone relieved some of his fears and he didn't feel so alone. Right before these photos were taken, he was attending a church and sleeping in the church building at night. The Lord used that time in a positive way because Mukisa learned how to play the piano. Now, serving God and playing the piano is his passion. Thanks to your donations, Wholly Yours Ministries was able to get him a place to live, send him to hair dressing school and helped him start his own business which he named GOC (God of Miracle's). Thanks to everyone who has given to Wholly Yours Ministries to help make this happen! We can't help everyone, but we can help some.
That brings me to the reason for the blog, to formally invite you to Mukisa's wedding and celebrate with him, his new bride, and the Wholly Yours Ministries team. Please join us, if you're in the area, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Makerere Full Gospel Church in Kampala, Uganda (see attached flyer).
No donated funds are being used for any part of this wedding ceremony; however, we would like to be able to send Mukisa and his bride to Dolwe Island for five nights for their honeymoon. If you would like to donate toward this, it will be greatly appreciated. Any additional money received will go directly to them to help them get started on life's journey. Also, Mukisa does not have his own keyboard and WYM hasn't bad the funds to buy one yet, if anyone feels led to donate funds to get him one he can use in our ministry, that would be AMAZING!
God bless y'all and let's celebrate! Please take time to congratulate him! We'll be posting pictures on the Wholly Yours Ministries FB page. If you aren't following us on FB, please do, and be sure to subscribe to our website wholly-yours.com for all ministry updates.
